Yesterday we shopped at Walmart and stocked up on some good foods like filet mignon and lump crab cakes for dinners. We left Kent, OH at about 10:00am. About an hour down Rt 80, we saw a billboard for Penn's Cave and decided to go there. This 3hr+ diversion turned out to be a totally unexpected treat. It's a much bigger operation than we thought, with an animal safari tour and a very large visitor center. The cave is partially flooded and the tour is by boat with a guide and about 20 other people. The tour lasted for almost an hour, but we had to drive about 45 minutes each way from/to the highway.

We got to our destination in Kent, Ohio about 6:30. We were beat and Barb's back was in really bad shape from a very rugged hike down a very steep and long path to get to/from the cave entrance. We poured a glass of wine, and snacked on a snack tray we bought at Walmart, We tried to get a satellite feed, but couldn't for some reason, and finally hit the sack exhausted.

Today it's off to the Cuyahoga Scenic Railroad, a 45 minute drive from here. We have tickets for a 3/12 hour scenic excursion through the Cuyahoga National Park in a vista dome car.
